Great News for TRI!

The Dayton Foundation Awards $20,000 Discretionary Grant The Phil and Jean Wagner Family Fund of  The Dayton Foundation  Awards an Additional $3,000

Message from our Executive Director

The Therapeutic Riding Institute, Inc. (TRI) is pleased to announce the receipt of a $20,000 Discretionary Grant Award from The Dayton Foundation and $3,000 from the Phil and Jean Wagner Family Fund of The Dayton Foundation. These funds will be used during a growth and expansion process that includes our move to FineLine Stables in Springboro during the first quarter of 2013 providing TRI with a dedicated arena, expansion of our programming services, organizational changes, and growth in volunteer opportunities.   After 40 years of service to the community TRI continues to improve and make needed changes to meet the growing needs of the community. The support from The Dayton Foundation is so valued and appreciated. Feeling the support of organizations in the community such as The Dayton Foundation, is an essential part of looking toward TRI’s next 40 years of service. Members of The Dayton Foundation have been instrumental in our growth process by opening doors through which we were able to access Board Member growth, and gain valuable insight as we look strategically toward the future.   TRI will continue in our mission:  “to improve the lives and health of children and adults in the Greater Miami Valley area with special physical, cognitive, social and psychological needs through Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT).”   The Dayton Foundation is the regional community foundation for Greater Dayton. Since 1921, the Foundation has helped people to help others. The Dayton Foundation has helped caring individuals to establish and manage charitable funds and be part of the Foundations’ 90-year history of awarding to nonprofits over 225,000 grants totaling more than a half-billion dollars. Through the Foundation, these donors have supported the building of a stronger community through philanthropy and leadership. More information about The Dayton Foundation and its services is available at www.daytonfoundation.org.

Congratulations, TRI!

Marleen Milkis,
Executive Director
