TRI is a Premier Accredited Center with PATH International

PrintThe Therapeutic Riding Institute, Inc. is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center.  TRI’s achievement indicates that all PATH Intl. Standards criteria related to the lesson program (student evaluation and intake, volunteer training, horse care and training, and instructor certification); administration, and facility condition are met.

The accreditation program review process is designed by PATH Intl. to ensure that all Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) programs adhere to specific standards.  This philosophy has ensured that programs nationally and internationally provide consistent teaching, training and administrative procedures. By adhering to the PATH Intl. standards, the students receive consistent instruction and guidance that enriches their lives and encourages striving to achieve.

TRI is 1 of only 275 centers in the nation that is Premier Accredited

All of TRI’s Instructors are PATH Certified

Our six riding instructors are all certified through PATH International and maintain a high level of professional standards.

PATH Instructor certification requires extensive preparation involving mentoring hours and written tests prior to being eligible to test for certification. Instructors must pass advanced riding skills and posses a firm knowledge of disabilities in order to pass the final test which is administered in person by certified evaluators at a third party location.

In addition to being PATH Intl Certified, all TRI Instructors maintain active CPR and First Aid Certifications and pursue at least 20 continuing education hours a year. Our standards are exemplary and our instructional program is designed to achieve both therapeutic and riding skill based goals. Learn more about PATH here.
